The Bagnition Baggage Reconciliation System (BRS) module matches passengers to their baggage ensuring only authorised bags are loaded onto the aircraft. It allows the efficient retrieval of baggage for ‘no show’ passengers.
The Bagnition BRS system performs the following functions:
- All types of baggage are handled, including originating, transfer, unaccompanied and out of gauge.
- User name and password controlled.
- Operator performance monitors.
- Records the location of each bag in a ULD and the location of the ULD within the aircraft to allow quick retrieval of baggage.
- Query bag location from tag number or passenger information.
- Storage of ULD history i.e. at chute, temporary storage, in aircraft.
- Bulk loading of bags when ULDs are not used.
- Re-flighting of bags with new tag.
- Relocating of bags between ULDs or flights.
- Relocating of ULDs in aircraft or flights.
- Authorise the carriage of ‘Rush Bags’.
- Live monitoring of bags loaded / waiting to be loaded onto flight.
- Baggage manifests detailing bags loaded, not loaded, requiring unloading, belonging to crew, rush etc.
- Addition of operator comments to bags and ULDs.
- Live off-load reports for dispatcher and other ground staff.
- Confirmation of load / unload status for baggage handler via handheld scanner.
- RF Mobile Scanning Technology.
- Asset management for handheld scanners.
- The Bagnition BRS system offers airport operators the following business benefits:
- Takes into account HBS status for load / no-load decisions.
- Has flexible loading algorithms.
- Quick retrieval times of baggage for passenger no shows reducing delays to flights.
- Reduction in misdirected baggage.
- Combined with the sortation module, there is a complete bag history from check-in to aircraft departure.
- Simplifying the search for lost baggage, allowing quicker response to customer enquiries therefore better customer satisfaction.
- Use of RF handheld scanners allows commonality of equipment for use in baggage hall or on the aircraft apron.
