We provide consultancy and product services related to HBS solution. Our HBS pro software ensures that the screening status of all bags within an airport environment is captured and this can also be linked with our BRS module to ensure total safety of all flights.
International baggage security regulations demand that all airports ensure that both transfer and originating baggage intended to be carried in an aircraft engaged in civil aviation operations has been screened prior to being loaded onto an aircraft.
Shabstec has a wealth of experience in designing, installing and commissioning hold baggage screening (HBS) lines and associated software tracking solutions.
Bagnition provides an airport with the ability to monitor the entire HBS process and to track every decision that relates to each bag that is processed through the system. As a fail-safe system when linked to the Bagnition Baggage Reconciliation System (BRS) module, it prevents unscreened baggage from being loaded onto a flight, whilst giving a complete record of screening statistics for any passenger or flight. Bagnition is fully compatible with computer-assisted passenger screening (CAPS), and this adds the ultimate level of integrity to a baggage system.
Traditional HBS systems have only considered the risk associated with the baggage. Passenger profiling allows the baggage HBS decision to be linked to passenger data, allowing the system to retain a full bag history for each passenger, and even route a particular passenger or flight baggage direct to Level 3 for additional inspection.
On HBS lines bags may pass through up to five screening levels. If a bag fails one of the screening levels, it moves onto the next one for further analysis. Once each bag has been cleared it is released for sortation.
