Our BHS Insights manager allows real-time baggage system performance information. Users can take action to ensure that any BHS outage disruption is minimised.
The objective is to improve decision making throughout the baggage operation, including short term decisions for allocating resources on the day, medium term decisions on where costs can be reduced and service improved, and strategic decisions on what services and facilities to offer. In particular, the objectives are:
- Consolidate all baggage information into one airport wide application.
- Integrate information from various sources such as bag item and equipment into common views with common names and measures.
- Provide detailed bag item track and trace across the airport, with diagnostic information as to why bag items may be delayed.
- Identify where problems are occurring in any part of the baggage handling system e.g. a problem with in system times (IST) caused by manual coding volumes, dieback or equipment failure.
- Provide consistent measures, SLA methods and calculations across the airport.
- Standardise KPI derivation and reporting across the airport.
- Provide consistent operational dashboards across the airport.
- Standardise and improve the reporting facility including ad hoc reporting.
- Ensure that the solution is fully supportable and sustainable by a recognised supplier.
- Provide a forecasting capability for short, medium and long term.
- Provide a robust open information platform to support current and future information requirements.
- The requirements of baggage as a whole must take into account the requirements of individual projects.
